| As usual we arrive late, at 3:26am this time. Everyone is too lazy to set up a tent so they sleep in the van and I sleep outside on a chair, nobody gets more then twenty minutes sleep. It was sprinkling at that point but stopped before the first game. The field layout was great, the ground texture, having a deadbox and especially the orange 'fence' around the parameter of the field which kept the guesswork out of sliding.
Two things worth noting in the semis; Heavy Metal gave Spikes 5150 Black their only loss for the day and Renegade surprisingly lost all their games knocking them out of the finals. The one on one's were also entertaining, particularly the Josh vs Jeff game (as everyone watching should attest). Along the way the Spikes players seemed to have difficuly not shooting themselves in the feet :) The finals came down to Bryce (Spikes 5150 Black) and Nick (Mystic Warriors) and Bryce pulled out the win. Oddly the final game was declared 'sudden death', this should have been like the previous event and been a race to two, which also would have been more entertaining.
The finals saw a lot of fierce playing, Spikes 5150 Black managed to pull off two wins with a gun down. CO2 Cool won the novice division for the second event in the row and since the second to forth position changed in each event it will be unlikely they won't take the series and the $1000.
This was another great event. Everything seemed a little rush-rush but finished in a timely manner. Some teams didn't make the event so that wacked the schedule for the prelims and, oddly, they just cut those teams out of the predetermined scheule which left the prelims unfinished for the first day.
