GT Paintball Series - Event 2 of 3 - July 10th, 2004

What the hell is with this weather? The first event was blazing hot and the second borderlined on raining the entire time. It was a torrential downpour with lightning all the night before but the field held it's own. Mike repaired the field so it was square now and there were no mud pits.

This event had ECO reffing for their 50 seed points, I helped ref and took pictures. With all the people blitzing upfield and afterwards claiming to have rubbed up against bunkers in the process, it's time to buy a few squeegees and clean the bunkers in between games. Too many people were claiming bunkerwipe, legitimately or not it was slowing up the play with everyone calling for paintchecks on other teams. One certain team, who will remain nameless, is perfecting their own variation of a freight train, you know who you are.

It's nice to see the rookies progressing to playing aggressively. All the teams that dominated the rookie division were the ones who took the ground and went for the angles.

In the finals Strict Union lost their first game to Triple Image. The wildcard team Heavy Metal played very well for never practicing/playing. Both Triple Image and Strict Union won two games but Strict came back and received an additional flag pull and maxed a game to win by points.

Again the rookie teams got soft goods back to 6th place, novice got cash. In the end it was a good day of paintball and more importantly Big Can has no idea how to ref :)

  [ NO RATING ]

The Atlantic GT has really stepped up this year in all aspects (the paint was still budget though). And thanks to Bruce for sending me the scores in this format, this is how I wanted the scores done since day one but it's difficult without having the score sheets.
